Operation of the Port Authority Slavonski Brod are defined in the shipping and inland waters:
- organization and supervision of docking and maneuvering the boat in the harbor,
- control port traffic , entry and exit of transport equipment and cargo,
- maintenance of joint structures in the port area,
- maintaining order in the port , a high level of safety and environmental protection in the port,
- construction and modernization of port construction in the name of Croatian,
- property management in the port area where the port authority has the right to build,
- management of free zone in the port area , which was established by the Croatian Government in accordance with the rules governing free zones,
- performance of professional duties related to the administration of the authorization,
- supervising the work of port operators and port users who perform port activities, in accordance with the commitments,
- marketing and promotion of the port on the transport market,
- ensuring the provision of services of general interest or for which there is no economic interest of other economic entities,
- preparation of a draft planning document for the development of the port system in inland waters,
- technical assistance to local and territorial ( regional) governments in the development of ports and harbors,
- other tasks as defined by the Law
