On Monday, 8 December 2025, the Final Conference of the project “ Studie and Project Documentation for the Dangerous Cargo Terminal in Port Slavonski Brod” was held on the premises of the Croatian Chamber of Economy – Slavonski Brod County Chamber.
At the conference, the key results of the project were presented, including the completed feasibility, design, and environmental documentation, which form the basis for the further development of the terminal. The project plays an important role in strengthening port infrastructure, improving safety and logistics capacities, and fostering the long-term economic development of Slavonski Brod and the wider region, with particular emphasis on the protection of the Sava River.
The Director of Slavonski Brod Port Authority, Marijan Jurić, emphasized that this is the first river port in Croatia built after the Homeland War and highlighted the growing interest in cargo transshipment, with a 20 percent increase in traffic compared to the previous year.
The Director of the Directorate for Inland Navigation at the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, Duška Kunštek, pointed out that after years of investment, the Port of Slavonski Brod has become one of the most developed inland ports in the region, and that this project paves the way for the development of modern and “green” port solutions.
The project was implemented in the period from 16 August 2021 to 31 December 2025, and its completion represents an important milestone in the further development of the Port of Slavonski Brod and inland navigation in the Republic of Croatia.
