Port Authority Slavonski Brod is implementing a project for documentation for the dangerous cargo terminal in the Port Slavonski Brod. It is the first project of its kind in Croatia, and the main goal of this project is to create a study, project and tender documents for the construction of dangerous cargo terminal that will create preconditions for more dynamic growth of activities and ensure better technical conditions in the port Slavonski Brod.
As part of the project's regular activities, on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, a coordination meeting was held between representatives of Port Authority Slavonski Brod and the executor community Hidroing d.o.o. from Osijek, Ekonerg d.o.o. from Zagreb and Geokon-Zagreb d.d. from Zagreb, where the executor reported on the activities carried out so far and on the activities that are currently in the implementation phase.
The implementation of the project began on June 28, 2022, and up to now geodetic surveying activities have been carried out and a study has been prepared. Geotechnical investigations were also carried out and laboratory tests are underway.
At the moment, activities for the preparation of the Feasibility Study, preparatory activities for the preparation of Environmental Impact Study, preparatory activities for the preparation of the conceptual design of the terminal, and preparation of the geotechnical study are underway.
The primary purpose of the terminal will be to supply energy products to ships (delivery by tankers, transport to ships) as well as receive all types of waste. The potential secondary purpose of the terminal will be the supply of energy products via ships for the purpose of filling the tanks on the cargo terminal.
Considered energy products at the terminal are diesel and biodiesel; biogas/gas (LBG/LNG), hydrogen, and connection for charging electricity, the approximate capacities of the tanks are estimated at: diesel/biodiesel 2 x 500 m3; biogas/gas 4x100 m3, hydrogen - approx. 10 tons.
Construction of the terminal will take place in three predictable phases. During the first phase, a 100 m long vertical quay will be built, and construction works will take place on the entire terminal (internal roads and surfaces, entrance-exit area, parking lots, reconstruction of the railway line) and fortification of the existing embankment. Diesel/biodiesel tanks with accompanying infrastructure (filling points, pipelines) will also be built, and equipment for accepting waste from vessels as well as equipment for electricity connection will be installed. During the second phase, biogas/gas tanks: LBG/LNG will be built with accompanying infrastructure (filling points, pipelines, nitrogen tanks). In the last third phase, hydrogen tanks in the gaseous state will be built, as well as manipulative surfaces around the hydrogen tanks.
